Turtles in an outdoor terrarium
In a pond a group of turtles is housed, consisting of 12 full-grown Emys orbicularis, 2 Clemmys caspica (rivulata) en 5 Chrysemys picta dorsalis. These turtles live exclusively in the open pond, including a hibernation of 5 months in winter. Part of the enclosure is raised to provide a dry section to give the female turtles a nesting opportunity to lay their eggs. In general the hatchlings are transferred to pet holders.
