Schildpadden Centrum Waterland
In het Schildpadden Centrum Waterland worden Europese landschildpadden gehouden, zoals de Griekse landschildpad (Testudo hermanni), de breedrandschildpad (Testudo marginata) en kruisingen tussen breedrandschildpadden en Moorse schildpadden (Testudo graeca). Ook zijn populaties van de Europese moerasschildpad (Emys orbicularis) en de amerikaanse sierschildpad (Chrysemys picta dorsalis) aanwezig. Sinds 1980 vindt onderzoek plaats naar de effecten van de omgeving, zoals bijvoorbeeld de broedstooftemperatuur op de bevruchting en ontwikkeling van Griekse landschildpadden en breedrandschildpadden.

Tortoise Centre Waterland
The Tortoise Centre Waterland houses Testudo hermanni, Testudo marginata and cross breedings of Testudo marginata with Testudo graeca. Since 1980 investigation of the effects of environmental parameters like incubation temperatures on the incubation and sex ratio of Testudo hermanni and Testudo marginata have been performed.
